Burradale wind turbines, just north of Lerwick. Please note these are NOT windmills - windmills are designed to mill grain to make flour and have large grinding stones etc. - these wind turbines are designed to make electricity (for your electric breadmaker). Here is the original picture taken from the Dales Voe pier. Its interesting but flat and lifeless and that mooring buoy on the right draws your eye away from the wind turbines, the sea and the sky.
So - remove the mooring buoy.
Adjust the contrast and brighness to make it more dramatic - this is also still a colour image, its just late in the day and the colurs are washed out.
Now add the Mirrie Dancers - Green....
Yellow....
Cyan....
Red....
Blue....
Magenta....
Shetland Aerogenerators Ltd. developed, owns and operates the Burradale Windfarm. Burradale is one of the most productive windfarms in the world with a recorded capacity factor of 52%. The high productivity is due to Shetland's unique wind resource. Energy from Burradale flows to Lerwick Power Station where it then contributes to meeting Shetland's energy demand.
