2011 Sandwick Family Fun Day

The annual Sandwick Fun Day was on Saturday 6 August, not on Sunday as reported on Radio Shetland! Although grey, damp & windy first thing the wind died away during the afternoon & that strange fiery ball in the sky appeared again - having been missing for some time...

Members of the 2011 South Mainland Up Helly Aa opened the proceedings with a march to the football pitch, a song & then onward to the beer tent.

There was also excellent live music - it really was excellent.

Along with the usual fast food.

And things for the small people to do - like this bungee run - which proved very popular. 

Along with a 'beat the Shetland Inter-county goalie'.
