Fibreglass Killer Whales

This lifesize and realistic fibreglass Killer Whale was made by Shetland Composites for a Salmon Farm company with the aim of towing it around salmon cages to scare away seals that can cause damage to the nets of salmon cages. The project has apparently had mixed results but the fibreglass Killer Whale is an exceptional replica and is extremely lifelike. It has also been painted to the exact pattern of an actual Killer Whale. If its not destined to be towed around salmon cages it would make an excellent exhibit at the Shetland Museum.

The mould used in the construction and a prototype whale.

  1. That seems like a good idea, shame it could not be remote control.

  2. wow thats pretty amazing!
